How Do You Manage Your Psoriasis?

August is Psoriasis Awareness Month (first Acne awareness and now this, sheesh) and the National Psoriasis Foundation spent the last few weeks raising awareness for the almost 10 million Americans who have the autoimmune condition. Psoriasis speeds up the life cycle of skin cells, resulting in dry and itchy patches of skin. Contrary to what you might think, psoriasis is not contagious, but so far there is no cure. The condition tends to come and go throughout one's life, and it's a lot more than an inconvenience—it can be debilitating.

Although psoriasis is best tackled with prescribed medication or topical corticosteroids, there are many products you can use on a daily basis that won't irritate your sensitive skin. Hydrating products free of dyes, fragrance, and "nasties" will all help soothe your skin. Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer, Ren Anti-Redness Serum, and Psoriasis Honey cream and serum are all examples of products that can soothe your skin without risk of making your psoriasis worse.

We're all about solutions here at SG, so add your review of your favorite sensitive skin products.
