Yesterday, April 7, Good Dye Young hosted their first in-person event since the pandemic began. The lunch, held at the vegan restaurant, Ladybird, near Tompkins Square Park, featured a small gathering of influencers and industry insiders.
But the most important question: Was Hayley Williams there? Yes, of course. Be still the angsty teen that lives in my heart. Her and her co-founder, hair stylist Brian O'Connor, graced the event, looking fabulous with dyed hair as always.
Hayley and Brian met back in 2004 and he started doing her hair for events for Paramore. The two decided to form Good Dye Young six years ago, although the brand has only really taken off in the past three years.
And lucky for them their business continues to grow. Brian and Hayley announced Good Dye Young will be premiering in both Target (which will feature exclusive color options) and Walmart later this year. "Big shout out to big box retailers," Hayley half joked. They will also be expanding their line to include Dyeposit, a wash in product that's meant to be an all in one for toning, cleansing, and maintaining hair.
There is also the potential for a Good Dye Young salon opening. Though they hope to make it a reality in Nashville by this summer, opening a salon is highly contingent on other factors, especially COVID.
Some exciting things are coming. Especially the new Paramore album, which Hayley had to fly back to L.A. to record.
