Nobody:

Me: Here is an exhaustive list of every single one of my signature scents throughout my lifetime.

My 1st Signature Scent: Glow by JLo. I thought I was an adult but I was 10 years old. I put on this and lip gloss and thought I was hot shit. The cheap fake necklace strung around the bottle made me feel rich. I have 0 recollection of what it smelled like. This perfume was the moment.

Tell me you remember this iconic bottle?!

My 2nd Signature Scent: This one came about at the beginning of my emo period—Amor Amor by Cacharel. I bought it at a duty free somewhere in some airport during a family vacation, and I think I chose it because the box looked like a My Chemical Romance album cover and the bottle kind of looked like a grenade. At the time grenades and guns with flowers coming out of them were powerful imagery on everyone's Myspace or Piczo accounts. This fragrance still smells really good to me and I can remember it vividly. I will give 20 coins to anyone who ads a review of themselves featuring this fragrance and can describe it to me. Show me the bottle or it doesn't count!
My 3rd Signature Scent: Please don't get mad at me. It was the 2000's and it was a different time. Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction was my everything. I think I bought it on a trip to Burlington Vermont because we used to drive across the border to go to VS because we didn't have them in Canada yet. We would come back through the Canadian border wearing 5 pairs of underwear, 3 bras, and bottles of VS products hidden under our seats. I used to put on the body cream AND spray myself with the mist.

My 4th Signature Scent: This one was my signature for the longest period of time in my life (so far): Miss Dior Cherie. I wore this perfume throughout high school, every single day. Apparently this is the 5th most popular fragrance on earth, and when they discontinued it my grandma bought me the last bottle she could find. They slightly changed the formulation and the color, and it's now called Miss Dior! To this day I smell people on the street wearing it and it brings back horrifying and wonderful memories.

During the next few years of my life there is fragrance turmoil. A friend who turned out to be a sociopath gave me a stolen bottle of Bvlgari perfume and said the smell reminded her of me (it smelled really bad). I wore it a few times but got headaches. I would take mini samples of Jo Malone perfumes and swap those in an out of my rotation (wood sage & sea salt, pear & freesia, and pomegranate noir which I still wear to this day). I think I even wore Marc Jacobs fragrances at some point, which I'm sorry Marc I love your clothing dearly, but the scents aren't good. Then one day I was at Sephora and I smelled a sample of Maison Margiela "REPLICA" in Beach Walk and it snapped me out of my fragrance funk. It smells like the beach (yes, it was Kramer's idea)—smell it and you'll get it.

My 5th Signature Scent:

My 6th Signature Scent: When I moved to NYC I, like everyone else in 2018, was obsessed with Glossier. I remember my first trip to their flagship store in Soho like it was yesterday. When they launched their first fragrance Glossier You, everyone was talking about it. I went to the Glossier You pop up shop and was spritzed by a pink gloved hand coming out of a wall and bought it immediately. It smells good on everyone and I sometimes wear it to this day.

My 7th and Current Signature Scent:

Now that I'm looking back at all the perfume choices I've made throughout my life, I'm realizing that I'm just a fragrance sheep who more or less wore the most popular perfumes of the moment (minus you, my beautiful Cacharel). This next one is a perfect example of that; I walked into to Le Labo to see what all the fuss that Santal 33 was about (THE perfume of NYC) and left with Thé Noir.

I do have some honorable mentions for perfumes that I like to wear to break up my Thé Noir routine; Gucci Bloom, 1989 by Alyssa Simone, and last but certainly not least, Love, Don't Be Shy by Killian. This perfume was released in 2007, but has had a resurgence in popularity since Rihanna admitted that it is HER signature scent. I had to know what she smelled like so I bought the smaller bottle, and I'm really happy I did.

Now I want to know: what's YOUR signature scent? What were your former scents? TELL ME EVERYTHING. Add your review below.
