Savannah is the “driest bitch in town.” Those are her words, not mine, but it’s probably true. Before the pandemic, the sound of a spritz bottle was nearly constant in our office. Savannah was always the culprit, dowsing her skin in layers of hydration. I kind of miss that sound... Since the beginning of the pandemic, she’s found a new way to constantly hydrate her skin—the Hey Dewy Portable Facial Humidifier. She has it constantly aimed at her face while she works and sleeps. Plus it has a USB cable so she can hydrate in the car during her next roadtrip! Of course, shooting water at your face isn’t enough. You have to lock it in. For that, Savannah has been loving the Ever Eden Nourishing Baby Face Cream and Baby Lip Balm. Yes, these products are for infants, but that just means they’re gentle enough for Savannah’s sensitive skin. As Savannah says, “I AM NOW BABY!”
Confession time! I used to never wear moisturizer on my face. Every moisturizer I tried either broke me out or felt tacky and heavy on my skin. Before you start commenting on my reviews about the importance of moisturizer, I want you to know I’m not a heathen. I didn’t just cleanse my face and go. I used to moisturize by applying a hyaluronic acid serum and locking it in with a hydrating CBD oil, but I finally found the perfect moisturizer. It’s the COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream. It’s made with 92% snail mucin so it has a very stringy texture, which seems like it would just sit on top of your skin, but it doesn’t! It soaks right in so your skin feels like skin. Keeping with the gastropod mollusc trend, I’ve also been a big slugger lately. As the last step in my skincare routine, I slug under my eyes and around my nose with good ol’ Vaseline. These are the driest parts of my face so they need that extra layer of protection from the elements. Plus, I’ve found that my concealer applies better when there’s a thin layer of Vaseline under my eyes.
Yracema made my goofy goober heart flutter when she described her skin as “that one Spongebob episode where he visits Sandy’s tree dome and he desperately needs water.” As a huge Spongebob fan and person with parched skin, I knew exactly what she was talking about. However, her moisture picks are new to me! Her first pick is I’m From’s Mugwort Essence which sounds more like a Harry Potter potion than a skincare product, but if it works like magic the way she says it does, sign me up! Her second pick is Rovectin’s Activating Treatment Lotion. It’s a toner + essence with hyaluronic acid and caffeine. Coffee is a huge part of Yracema’s morning routine so it doesn’t surprise me that she found a way to seep caffeine into her body through her pores!
If you tune into Cult Beauty with Susie Mondays at 8pm EST, then you already know that Susie’s recommendations are always spot on. If she says a product is good, I instantly add it to my cart, no questions asked. Susie uses Tower28’s SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray to add hydration between her skincare layers. “It’s part of my wet-face-before-moisturizer routine,” says Suzie. Her favorite daily moisturizer is Drunk Elephant’s Protini Polypeptide Cream, but when her skin is truly parched, she slathers on a thick layer of Dr. Jart’s Ceramidin Cream. Susie has tried a lot of cult faves so you can trust that she isn’t just talking about a product because it’s trendy. She knows it truly works like no other!
If you follow Eliza on Instagram, you probably already know all about her moisture picks. She has posted several stories over the past month proclaiming her love for these products. Most recently she has fallen in love with WLDKAT’s Mushroom + Moss Gel Cream after WLDKAT week. “I truely love every product in their skincare line,” says Eliza. She has also been using Humanist Beauty’s Herban Wisdom Facial Oil with CBD to lock in moisture and then she further locks in moisture with Experiment’s Avant Guard reusable silicone mask. The results are “NEXT LEVEL” according to Eliza. I have to agree. She has been extra glowy recently!
