Alex Jay & Jacqueline Stoner: Co-Founders, Bite & Co.

Bite & Co Founders Alex Jay and Jacqueline Stoner

I haven't tasted a gummy this good since Flintstones Vitamins—and those chewies didn't even do anything for your skin!

Bite & Co. are pretty much the 3-in-1 gummies you've been missing; they improve your gut health, they provide your daily vitamins and superfoods, and most importantly for our community members, they benefit the health of your skin. Because as you know, what you ingest has a huge effect on the way your skin—the biggest organ of your body—looks.

Alex Jay and Jacqueline Stoner are the creators of these tasty supplements that are packed with ingredients like Vitamins B, C and E, silica, apple cider vinegar, sea moss, spirulina, papaya, and more. No need to compromise on your gut health or the health of your skin—with Bite & Co. you can have both. And like I said, they taste good (this coming from someone who tried apple cider vinegar and spirulina once and never ever tried them again).

Tune in tonight at 7pm EST on the app for a live interview and drop with Bite & Co. co-founder Alex Jay! Prepare your coins and your burning questions.

On how the brand started: Alex: “We worked with brands like Love Wellness, we worked with CBD brands, and we've just seen how the market gravitates towards something healthy and pretty to take. We were thinking that we know how to market skincare beauty products and that prior to that, I worked with juice press, which is all superfood smoothies—I was their in house health coach. Jacqueline has a friend who manufactures gummies and I was like, 'Wait a second, I hate taking vitamins, but I do love gummies.' I'd buy everything from liquid silica to omega 3 oil to make a smoothie, but then I wouldn't end up making it. So we're thinking, what can be something you won’t forget to take because it tastes so good? And what if we made each product like a skincare bottle too? So this all happened during COVID, we really came up with idea in June."

Jacqueline: “I was taking a million different supplements, I think there was a point where I had like six pills a day. And they were all things that wouldn't necessarily go together. So we thought we can make this a gummy and simplify everything and make it taste better instead of chugging several pills."

On how much you can have per day: Alex: "The best way to think about it is like maybe you had a green juice in the morning, but then later on in the day you're having a purple smoothie. You can definitely take all of of the flavors in one day. One Lighten Up gummy is half a shot of apple cider vinegar and 50% of your B vitamins, so if you did happen to take two, you're gonna have a full shot of apple cider vinegar plus all your daily B vitamins that are needed for the day. One per day is totally fine though, because we do know it's more of a premium product and that they’re more expensive."

On their product line: Alex: "C-food is our skin brightening gummy. The way to think of it is it’s your vitamin C serum, so it’s for skin brightening. It's super high in vitamin C, papaya, and kiwi, but then you're also getting your greens from kale. We added in spirulina and sea moss—sea moss is also known for brightening and tightening the skin. It's an ingredient that I feel is underused in the beauty world but it's definitely getting a lot of attention now.

Baby face is our skin plumping gummy. This one has omega 3's in it so fish oil. A lot of hormonal acne comes from not getting enough oil for your skin, not getting enough healthy fats. You also have collagen powder in there, and another one of my favorite ingredients, which is silica. When I was taking straight silica regularly I would be on jobs when I previously modeled and they'd be like 'your eyelashes literally touch your eyebrows.' I also recently burned my eyelashes off when I was making a fire in my house and I was very panicked about it, but I pulled out my Baby Face vitamins and within a month my eyelashes started growing back—I think it’s the silica. Baby Face also has sea moss in it too."

Jacqueline: “I got my hair cut right before COVID and then we got the first samples of Baby Face, and three months later I went back for another haircut. I never thought I had bad hair or unhealthy hair, I don't blow dry it and I don't curl it, I don't use any hot tools to my hair. Her first question was 'what have you done to your hair? Because it feels so much thicker and healthier.' It's the silica! I was like, 'I didn't know my hair was bad before, but great!'"

Alex: "Our third gummy is Lighten Up. Jacqueline was like, “I think we should definitely do this one because everyone tells me to take apple cider vinegar shots.” And we're thinking, well, apple cider tastes disgusting, who wants to do that? And then we tried a couple other apple cider vinegar gummies that we thought didn't taste great. So we really wanted to perfect this one. That's where we plugged in the vitamin D so people are also getting those proteins as well. This gummy is also very much about gut health. This is a great one to take first thing in the morning."

On their new not-yet launched gummy: Alex: “In the winter, the number one vitamin that people are deficient in is vitamin D. In the winter we also have dry skin. We included hyaluronic acid as well. This is my new favorite one. It also has a lot of vitamin E in it, which is really good for your skin and helping it like look younger and brighter."

On how long it takes to show it's effects: Alex: "I would say about a month. For some people it might be more on a gut level or it might just be more of a mood booster through the vitamins. Your skin is the largest organ, and your skin is so tied to internal health, so that’s why your gut health is so important. A good way to describe it is that everyone wants overnight changes, right? If you start drinking green juice every day, it's a slow change that's everlasting because it’s just helping your overall health. We wanted to add stuff that you see the effects of right away, like silica, which you'll see quickly in your nails and your hair. But a lot of it takes longer because it's your overall health and your energy."
