It's only fitting that an article about summer essentials be centered around SPF, and that the Supergreater featured refuses to go one day without wearing it on her face and body (and even her eyelids Supergreaters—so get on her level).
Lilyytay isn't from any tropical paradise (she's from a small town in Ontario, Canada, actually) but that doesn't mean she doesn't know how to stay safe from the sun. "I’ve always been told to wear sunscreen when it’s sunny out, but when I finally heard that you should be wearing spf every single day it really clicked for me how important it is to keep your skin protected," she says. "I really love the Klairs UV Essence since it doesn’t leave a white cast and it feels super hydrating. I also found it hard to remember to apply sunscreen to the rest of my body, but now I carry around an spf in my purse so I can reapply throughout the day and cover any areas I might have missed."
Lilyytay is entering her third year of studying marketing management full-time at the University of Guelph, and her side hustle is pretty obvious if you take a peek at her Instagram. She makes pastel, envy-inducing content for makeup, skincare, haircare, and even fragrance brands. "After graduation, I would love to work with a fashion or beauty company doing social media marketing or product development," she says. Is it just me, or does it seem like she carries an actual Sephora's worth of products in her room?
Supergreat definitely has a way of encouraging some people to come out of their shells (myself included), and Lilyytay is no exception. "I’m actually pretty shy and a super introverted person," she says. "If you had told me a few years ago that I would be making videos talking in front of a camera I probably wouldn’t believe you." She compares her skin to Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers, "since it still seems to be going through an awkward faze where one day it’s great, but the next it’s covered in hormonal breakouts."
This Supergreater's favorite products include Youth to the People Dream Mask, COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid, Klairs Vitamin C Essence, Glossier Coconut Balm Dot Com, and Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Fu$$y. "I also recently received some products from Versed, which I have been loving so far," she says. "I think it’s great that they’re bringing products with some really nice ingredients to the drugstore at an affordable price—and they have the cutest packaging!" This, coming from the queen of cute packaging shelfies.
So before you leave the house on this beautiful Friday, watch Lilyytay's summer beauty routine, including K-Beauty spf, lightweight and manageable face powder, super cute face mist by Youth to the People, and that spf eyeshadow that I now can't stop thinking about.
